Sebby Kowal’s name should be familiar to you if you vibe out on dreamy atmospheric soundscapes — Kowal is a full-on wizard when it comes to crafting his ambient worlds. His new album “Cherry Blossom” is chock-full of all that you’ve come to expect from his signature style — soft washes of noise that caress the periphery, otherworldly textures and sounds that defy expectations, and mesmerizing looped sequences that have an entrancing quality about them. “Cherry Blossom” is a slow burn that asks patience of its listener, to be content to sit quietly and be open to a slow trickle of tranquility to envelop the senses. Kowals’ crafted a truly pensive album that is delicately painted with subtle particulates, hushed and subdued field recordings, and mantra-like musical patterns that are out of the ordinary. It’s quite likely to become one of my favorite Sebby Kowal albums to date.

Lynn Wright
After decades working behind the scenes in New York’s underground scene, musical wanderer Lynn Wright steps into the spotlight on Miasmah Recordings with “Before The Sinking Plains” — his first solo album, born from guitar loops he made each morning during a long illness. The result blends washed-out dream pop, atmospheric drone, and sparse noir folk into what Wright calls “songs masking as atmospheric compositions” — dark, subtle, and vast as an open field meeting the sky. The album is a tasteful blend of reverb-saturated indistinct vocal layers, contemplative ambient guitar lines, and a landscape of open sound — perfect for watching the sky unfold before vast open fields stretching to the edge of the horizon. It’s a great listen and I encourage you to queue up the album in your ambient playlist.
